Check what is covered

Our car hire excess insurance policy is designed for anyone who lives permanently in the United Kingdom and is hiring a car. Our policy provides insurance for customers travelling in Europe or worldwide. Purchase options include covering a single car rental or an annual policy option which covers multiple car rentals during the policy year. If buying an annual policy we have a very useful auto-renewal option.

Our car hire excess insurance provides enough coverage for any likely excess you might need to pay to the car hire company. If you have any doubts as to how much excess you might have to pay should you damage the hire car please contact the car hire company. We have also included other benefits with the policy, such as loss or damaged car keys to cover other unexpected losses. What We Cover

Check what is not covered

Please check the policy for all exclusions but here are a few of the key exclusions to be aware of: -

  • Our policy is designed to follow the car rental agreement that you sign when picking up the car. That means that you must drive the car in accordance with the car rental terms and conditions. A claim resulting from an incident where you breach the terms and conditions is likely to render any claim void.
  • You must be aged at least 21 and permanently resident in the UK to purchase this policy.
  • We only insure hired cars under this policy
  • We do not cover travel in Crimea, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, Iran or countries where the Foreign Office has warned against all but essential travel.

The Underwriter
